HopScratch Farm
Harwood, Maryland
GOOD FOOD. GOOD DIRT. GOOD PEOPLE.
Twelve acres in Harwood. Pastured meat. Hops. Eggs. A farm shop full of good local stuff. And two people who seem pretty serious about leaving the ground better than they found it.
Friends of the HamCam. Friends of local farming.

WHY WE’RE HERE
Tom and Amy are friends of ours.
That’s not a disclosure we’re particularly worried about.
They’re also active members of the local farming community and exactly the kind of people this part of TheHamCam exists to point toward: people producing good food, supporting other local producers, and caring about how the land that produces it is treated.
So yes, we’re biased.
Go see what they’re doing.
FROM THEIR FARM
What comes off twelve acres in Harwood.

PASTURED MEAT
Beef and lamb raised with the same attention to land, pasture and stewardship that runs through the rest of HopScratch.

HOPS
A working hopyard beside the barn — hop blossoms have shown up on the farm shelves.

EGGS
Farm eggs, from the same ground as everything else.
MORE THAN THEIR FARM
Turns out spreading the love is contagious.
Their farm shop makes room for more than what HopScratch raises. “Local Farm Favorites” are products sourced from local farms and producers they have relationships with, rounding out what the farm produces itself.
That’s exactly the kind of thing this page exists to celebrate. What’s on the shelf changes, so go look.
THE DIRT MATTERS
In their own words, HopScratch is committed to sustainable agriculture and the preservation of their environment — conservation practices that promote the health of the land, protect natural resources, and consider the generations that come after.
They raise pasture-based animals to provide healthy food in a sustainable manner, on practices built around biodiversity, ecological balance and soil health.
That is their statement, not ours. We just think it is worth repeating.

Go scratch around.
Everything is sold by them, not us. We just point.
Know somebody we should know?
Farm. Butcher. Baker. Waterman. Cheesemaker. Market. Producer. Somebody making something ridiculous in a barn.
